Our first visit is a walk around the yard: where the cut limbs will land, how a climber or the lift gets up to them, and what stands close to the walls. Then comes a written price and our call on whether the tree can wait.
What happens in your yard once you say yes
We clear bystanders first and mark a drop zone at least twice the height of the tree or limb coming down. Nobody walks into it while we're cutting or lowering branches.
Then we pick the safest way to reach the work, either the aerial lift or a climber. Saws, ropes, saddles, carabiners and lift equipment all get inspected ahead of cutting, and worn or damaged gear is pulled from service.
Many homes around here have brick, stone or stucco walls and raised foundations or porches. We route branches and equipment away from that masonry instead of past it.
The service behind this guide: tree removal. Need tree service in Johnson City? Our main page lists everything.
Will my slope or creek-side lot change how you work?
Yes. Ground decides where the aerial lift can sit and how we move branches out.
On sloped Dewey-Collegedale ground, the soil drains well but runoff is medium, so we plan footing and the path for hauling debris with the slope in mind. Near Cash Hollow, the narrow creek bottoms have Weaver soil, and most of it is subject to overflow. Streamside work there can mean flood-prone ground, so we check how wet it is before we put heavy equipment on it.
Seasonal moisture also moves soil and stresses foundations. If a tree stands close to the house, we check the ground around it before deciding where equipment goes.

What does tree pruning or stump grinding cost?
Pruning typically runs $350 to $725 and stump grinding $100 to $450. Tree height, room for the lift or a climber's route in, and soft ground push the price up or down within each range.
A rough height over the phone is enough for a ballpark inside those ranges. We confirm the exact price on site. The written quote names the reach method, the drop zone and the price, and it shows stump grinding as its own line if you want it done.
What's the next step?
Call and tell us which tree you're worried about and where it stands in relation to the house. Nothing gets booked or agreed on that first call.
